CANDY CANES: If you do not own a food processor: Break up candy canes into several pieces, place them in a food storage bag and bang the heck out of them with a meat mallet. Sift the ‘dust’ and place the larger pieces back in the bag and repeat the banging. I call the larger pieces ‘nugets’. (See recipe for CANDY CANE CAKE and FROSTING on pages 121 and 122.)
